Dahlia Instructions for Planting & Care:

Once you have received your dahlia tubers, please store in a cool dry location that will not freeze. Your tubers may still be dormant and it's normal for them to take a few weeks to eye up and sprout.

After all danger of frost has passed and your soil has warmed, plant tubers in a sunny area in healthy soil. We plant tubers about four inches deep, and lay them on their side with eyes up when planting. Cover soil and do not water, unless your conditions are completely dry. Too much water before they've sprouted will cause tuber to rot. Once you see leaves emerge from the soil, water every few days or as needed.

When plants are 8-12 inches tall, pinch out the center stem for more branching and blooms. Remember to support your dahlias by staking or corralling as some varieties can grow quite large. For lots of blooms, pick and deadhead flowers regularly. Remember to cut deeply to encourage long stem length and the more flower you pick, the more will grow!

Wishing you a season full of beautiful blooms!
